Domestic workers gain equal rights in Brazil

Femicide in Latin America: creating a regional protocol for ensuring justice

Press Release: UN Women in Afghanistan strongly condemns “honour killings” of women and girls

Recently several cases of “Honour Killings” have been reported by the media and Afghan Women’s Network (AWN) recorded three cases of such killings across the country during the month of March. This includes a young girl buried alive by her brother and father in Kishim district of Badakhshan Province.

Women elected to one-fifth of seats during Kenyan elections

After Kenya’s recent national elections on 4 March, an unprecedented 87 of the 416 seats in the National Assembly and Senate will be held by women. As a new Constitutional requirement to ensure one-third representation, another 52 women will be nominated by 2015.

Bringing drama into the streets: interactive theatre performances counter violence against women in Bangladesh
