Training for gender equality and women’s empowerment is an essential component for UN Women’s commitment to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Training for gender equality enhances knowledge and skills, while providing techniques and resources to improve the performance and quality of our actions to bring about positive change for all and create an equitable and peaceful society.
UN Women’s training and capacity development approach are guided by key international normative instruments, in particular:
The UN Women Training Centre provides high-quality training courses, programmes and resources on key issues related to UN Women’s priorities as well as emerging topics. We foster and employ innovative, participatory learning approaches and methodologies. We work with diverse partners around the world to ensure the quality and effectiveness of our training services and products.

This is a knowledge-sharing platform (available in English, French and Spanish) run by trainers and experts on gender equality. It features good practices and innovative tools, promotes information-sharing and inspires discussion on key issues related to training for gender equality.
- Women Virtual Campus (coming soon)
The virtual campus is UN Women’s e-learning platform will widen the outreach of training materials and opportunities at the global level. The e-learning platform is expected to be available by mid-2014.

A global online platform that allows UN Women to identify and mobilize a diverse range of experts and trainers on gender equality. Registration is open in the areas of gender equality, economic empowerment, political participation, peace and security, and HIV/AIDS.
