[Poster] UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security

Since the adoption of the groundbreaking UN Security Council resolution 1325 on women, peace and security in October 2000; the Security Council subsequently adopted four other resolutions: 1820 (2008), 1888 (2009), 1889 (2009) and 1960 (2010). These resolutions provide a legal and political framework that acknowledges the importance of women's participation and the inclusion of gender perspectives in peace negotiations, humanitarian planning, peacekeeping operations, post-conflict peacebuilding and governance.

This poster provides a breakdown of each resolution highlighting the relevant main actors behind the resolutions as well as the monitoring, reporting and accountability mechanisms in place for each resolution.
