UN Women deplores the rape of a 5-year-old and calls for greater accountability of service providers
In a statement, UN Women India strongly deplores the continuing cases of sexual violence against women and girls, including the recent barbaric rape of a girl child in New Delhi. The urgent need to promote and protect the rights of women and girls in India and punishment for perpetrators is strongly urged.

UN Women Executive Director calls for inclusive peace process and immediate stop to human rights abuses against women in ongoing conflict in Mali
During her on-going trip to West Africa, UN Women Executive Director called for an end to the escalating violence in the Northern territories, and strongly urged senior leaders to fully engage women in all processes set up to address the crisis in Mali.
