Gender, migration and development in the Republic of Moldova – A policy paper

This policy study by UN Women deals with the link between women’s migration and development in the Republic of Moldova. Divided into five parts, the report provides background information about past and present Moldovan female labour migration. It further analyses the impact of female migration on Moldovan development and studies the integration of women’s labour migration in development policies.

Based on the results of the study, the paper concludes by providing recommendations for national policy to promote and protect the rights of women migrant workers. This publication has been produced with the assistance of the European Union as part of the UN Women project “Promoting and protecting human and labour rights of women migrant workers”.
