This manual provides step-by-step guidance to Parties to United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) on integrating gender issues and promoting gender equality in the design of transformative land degradation neutrality (LDN) projects. It builds on work launched by UN Women, the UNCCD, and the International Union on the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in advising governments on transformative efforts to avoid, reduce, and reverse land degradation through gender- and socially equitable means.

This publication seeks to contribute to the level of harmonization between national policies and international standards of human rights of women migrant workers and to improve the accountability of States Parties in their compliance with international conventions. It is also an instrument for the preparation of reports on Mexico's commitments in 2016 for the CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination against Women) and CMW (Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families) committees.

To promote and protect the rights of migrant workers, as well as develop legal frameworks that are in line with international standards on human rights, this guide seeks to be an input to formulate and implement migration laws in Mexico from a gender perspective.
