This Guidebook aims to increase knowledge about the CEDAW Committee’s landmark General recommendation no. 30 on women in conflict prevention, conflict and post-conflict situations, and the Security Council resolutions on women, peace and security, and how these frameworks can be used to strengthen and reinforce each other. The Guidebook provides information on the content of the General Recommendation and the Security Council resolutions and on the reporting and monitoring mechanisms.

This collection of papers is a set of resource materials to support improved implementation of the five WPS resolutions. It consists of analytical documents explaining gender issues in a number of peace and security areas, both normative and operational, and of guidance material to support operational work.

In this study on gender equality, researchers asked 4,000 people in 20 countries to describe the gender norms in their communities and the influence those norms have on their lives and their every-day decisions. The researchers spoke with men and women, youth and adults, living in villages and cities in developing countries, as well as higher income countries.
