In 2018, the Government of Finland contributed regular resources of USD 12.1 million to UN Women. In addition, the Government contributed USD 5.3 million in other resources support—bringing its overall 2018 contribution to approximately USD 18.7 million and making Finland UN Women’s seventh largest contributor. In a May 2017 interview, the Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen referred to his country’s combined core and non-core contribution of approximately USD 14.53 to UN Women in 2016, and urged other Member States to also step up and help UN Women deliver on its mandate of achieving gender equality by 2030. Finland has been one of UN Women’s largest donors, topping the list in 2014.
