Press briefing to launch the Gender Snapshot 2025 report

The upcoming Gender Snapshot 2025 report by UN Women and UN DESA shows that the world is at a crossroads. With just five years from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) deadline, none of the gender equality targets are on track – but it does not have to be this way. Gender equality is within reach and the report demonstrates how targeted investments in areas such as digital inclusion, poverty reduction and climate action could transform not only the lives of women and girls but entire societies and economies. Ahead of world leaders meeting at the UN in New York for the 80th General Assembly, the Gender Snapshot report makes it clear that the choice is urgent: Invest in women and girls now, or risk losing another generation of progress.
