Under-Secretary-General and UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka will brief the press about the International Women’s Day commemoration and the upcoming 58th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. This is her first International Women’s Day since she took the helm of UN Women in August 2014. The forthcoming 58th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, to be held from 10-21 March, will be an important milestone in the ongoing post-2015 debate and review achievements made through the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals as well as gaps that remain for women and girls.
