UN Women Executive Board convenes Second Regular Session 2016

UN Women Executive Board will convene for this year’s Second Regular Session on 1 and 2 September at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The Chair of the Session, Ambassador Mohamed Khaled Khiari from the Permanent Mission of Tunisia, will introduce the Session and UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka will deliver opening remarks.
On the first day, the Executive Board will address the structured dialogue on financing as well as the independent and external assessment of the harmonized cost recovery methodology.
The following day, the Executive Board will consider the evaluation function of UN Women and discuss the meta-analysis of evaluations managed by UN Women in 2015, the corporate evaluation of UN Women’s contribution to United Nations system coordination on gender equality and women’s empowerment, as well as the respective management perspectives. Furthermore, the management response to the report of the Board of Auditors for 2015 and the report of the joint field visit of the Executive Board’s Bureaus to the Kyrgyz Republic will be presented.
During additional briefings, UN Women’s work on innovations to scale up gender equality and the empowerment of women, the operational response at the country level in Morocco and the road map towards the new Strategic Plan 2018-2021 will be emphasized.
