On 11 April 2019, the conference room at the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management pulsated with energy, as 40 youth activists from around the world debated challenges and solutions to ensure young women’s meaningful participation in peacebuilding processes in their countries and regions.

“Ride on! Speak Out!”: Nine countries, 15 bikers, one issue – ending violence against women

A group of motorcycle buffs joined forces with Harley-Davidson Johannesburg and UN Women in a novel initiative to raise awareness about violence against women and girls. Over 16 days, they rode 8,200 km, across Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho.
