TRANSFORM – The magazine for gender-responsive evaluation – Issue 12, June 2018

UN Women regularly evaluates its own work to enhance accountability, inform decision-making and contribute to learning on gender equality. “TRANSFORM – The magazine for gender-responsive evaluation” uses data visualization and concise evaluation recommendations to highlight good practices and lessons learned on what works for gender equality for transformative change. Produced by the Independent Evaluation Service, TRANSFORM features UN Women corporate evaluations and meta-analyses, along with issues specifically dedicated to gender-responsive evaluation.

Issue no. 12 focuses on UN Women’s contribution to women’s political participation from 2011 to 2017 through a systems thinking lens. This issue summarizes the main evaluation results and captures learning from past practices that can inform and strengthen future work in this area. It also examines UN Women’s position and strategic niche in promoting women’s political participation in the context of the UN Secretary-General’s call for the United Nations Development System reform to deliver on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The evaluation emphasizes finding improved ways of working in partnership with UN agencies, civil society, regional organizations, and governments to enhance the level and sustainability of results.
