UN Women Executive Board to convene first regular session of 2024
The UN Women Executive Board will convene for this year’s first regular session from 12 to 13 February 2024 at the United Nations’ Headquarters in New York.
The President of the Executive Board, H.E. Ms. Markova Concepción Jaramillo, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Panama to the United Nations, will open the Session on 12 February at 10 a.m. EDT. UN Women Executive Director, Sima Bahous, will then deliver opening remarks.

Over the two days, the Executive Board will receive updates on audit matters, including presentations on the financial report and audited financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2022; the Report of the Board of Auditors on the financial statements for that year; implementation of the recommendations of the Board of Auditors contained in its reports on the United Nations funds and programmes for that year; and updated status of UN Women management actions to address outstanding audit recommendations. The Executive Board will also be presented with the findings of the meta-synthesis on UN Women’s advocacy and communications, which is accompanied by a management perspective.
Additionally, there will be a briefing on UN Women’s regional operational activities in Africa and a presentation of the report of the joint field visit to Senegal of the Executive Boards of UNICEF, UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS, WFP, and UN Women that took place from 2 to 6 October 2023. The Executive Board will also receive a presentation on follow-up and implementation of the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board’s recommendations and decisions and hear an address by the United Nations Development Programme/United Nations Population Fund/United Nations Office for Project Services and UN Women Staff Council, as well as the related management action.
