International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation: UN Women GWA Jaha Dukureh speaks

6 February marks the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). FGM affects 200 million women globally, with dire consequences ranging from debilitating pain to childbirth complications to death. Today, UN Women is recommitting to ensuring that laws are not only passed against the practice, but that governments are taking action to implement those laws.

We can all do our part to stand against this harmful practice. Join UN Women and Goodwill Ambassador for Africa Jaha Dukureh as we reaffirm our commitment to ending FGM.
