Corporate thematic evaluation of UN Women’s contribution to humanitarian action
The UN Women Independent Evaluation Service (IES) of the Independent Evaluation and Audit Services (IEAS) undertook a corporate evaluation of UN Women’s contribution to humanitarian action as part of its Corporate Evaluation Plan. The evaluation assessed the relevance, appropriateness, effectiveness, efficiency, connectedness, and sustainability of UN Women’s approach to humanitarian action at global, regional, and country level. The evaluation’s scope was from 2014 to present, with a brief review of work conducted from 2011 to 2013.
The purpose of the evaluation was to present evidence to inform UN Women’s strategic decisions on its approach to humanitarian action and to feed into the entity’s efforts to promote gender equality and to provide actionable recommendations to inform future decision-making on UN Women’s support for humanitarian action and to solidify its work in this area.
