25th anniversary of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women
Twenty-five years ago, in direct response to the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund) was established with one goal: accelerating UN system-wide efforts to end violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Since then, it has become increasingly clear and recognized that civil society organizations and women’s rights organizations, such as those supported by the UN Trust Fund, play an essential leadership role in initiatives to end VAWG worldwide and in delivering essential support services to survivors of violence.
As the UN Trust Fund marks 25 years, you are cordially invited to join in commemorating this 25-year long journey of grant-giving, support to civil society and women’s rights organizations, and commitment to making the right of women and girls to live a life free of violence a reality for all.
