Background:
The UNGA Platform of Women Leaders is a special initiative that invites all current women Heads of State and Government to discuss priority issues on the international community’s agenda and identify solutions to today’s complex and interlinked challenges.
The UNGA Global Platform of Women Leaders stems from a meeting on 21 September 2021, between women Heads of State and Government and Mr. Abdulla Shahid, the President of the 76th session of the General Assembly. The aim of that meeting was to place gender equality at the forefront of the multilateral arena.
