UN Women’s HeForShe is a solidarity movement for gender equality that aims to engage men and boys as agents of change for women’s rights and gender equality. The campaign encourages them to speak out and take action against inequalities faced by women and girls.

“These images make the point that girls and women are half of humanity and are exactly equal to the other half. Together, they make a whole world. HeForShe is an incredible youth movement and these stamps reflect that creativity and vitality”, said Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director of UN Women.

This joint issuance of the UN Women HeForShe stamps also highlights the commitment of the United Nations and the Government of India in addressing issues related to gender equality. The half face images on the stamps underlines the message of men and women working together to make gender equality a reality. These postage stamp ambassadors play a unique role in sending an important message to men and women around the world.
