Civil Society Advisory Groups
Consultations in global, regional and national civil society advisory groups (CSAGs) help UN Women draw upon their diverse expertise, experience, outreach and knowledge. They sharpen ideas and strategies for our advocacy initiatives, policies and programmes.
The Global CSAG, convened by UN Women’s Executive Director, consists of 14 members, including feminist leaders from women’s rights organizations, youth and LGBTIQ+ groups, academia, and male gender equality networks. They play an advisory role to the Executive Director on key strategic and political issues.
National and regional groups are established based on local priorities and practices, under the broad guideline of creating a just, balanced and effective body. Members of different groups maintain regular contact through a web-based platform.
