Knowledge Gateway for Women's Economic Empowerment

In partnership with the Government of Canada, UN Women launched the Knowledge Gateway for Women's Economic Empowerment (www.empowerwomen.org) on 23 September 2013. The Knowledge Gateway is an online "one-stop service" for resources, advocacy, innovation, partnerships and collaboration to advance women's economic empowerment.

Momentum towards meeting the MDGs

Since their adoption in 2000, the Millennium Development Goals - the MDGs - have made a huge difference, helping to set global and national priorities and fuel action on the ground. They have raised awareness and shaped a broad vision for development work around the world. UN Women is actively working on achieving the MDGs, for which women and girls play a pivotal role, as well as for MDG3, which specifically focuses on promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.
