Collecting women voices for Rio+20 Conference

Date:

The UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) to be held in June will be an important opportunity to define international frameworks to advance sustainability. To amplify the voices of women in the discussions for Rio+20, UN Women is supporting the civil society network Women's Major Group on gathering the views and gender perspectives on sustainability and what that means for women around the world through the Rio+20 gender survey.

The results of the survey will be shared at the Conference and shape the Rio+20 outcomes through: recommendations, statements and advocacy strategies by the Women's Major Group in Rio; communications with policymakers and country delegates - including Heads of State; and a collection of successful projects that will be highlighted on the Women's Major Group website.

The Rio+20 gender survey is online (also in Spanish and French). Alternatively, the key questions (only six questions) of the survey can be answered and submitted to survey[at]womenrio20.org. The survey is open till 5th May, and one lucky survey participant will be selected to go to the Rio+20 Conference as part of the Women's Major Group delegation.
