Election of the Bureau

The five officers — the President and four Vice-Presidents — represent the five regional groups, with the presidency rotating among regional groups every year. In 2021, the election takes place on 12 January. The following nominations are to assume their respective roles by acclamation:

• President: H.E. Mr. Alie Kabba
  Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the United Nations
• Vice President: H.E. Ms. María del Carmen Squeff
  Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations
• Vice President: H.E. Mr. Günter Sautter
  Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations
• Vice President: H.E. Mr. Kimura Tetsuya
  Ambassador, Economic, Social and United Nations Management Affairs, Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations
• Vice President: Ms. Eka Kipiani
  Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Georgia to the United Nations
