Event description

This event is an opportunity for young people to collectively review the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA). The half-day event will provide a space to enhance partnerships among young people and adolescent girls and enable them to strategize on bringing forward a youth perspective into the Beijing+25 review taking place during the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW64). The event will also include an intergenerational dialogue on how the confluence of anniversaries in 2020, including the 20-year anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council resolution 1325 on women, peace and security, can be leveraged as part of the Beijing+25 review processes.

Alternating between panel discussions and breakout sessions, the event will culminate in a Youth Global Review outcome document that will be carried forward to CSW64 and the Generation Equality Forum.

UN Women invites young people to register for the Youth Global Review. Registrants will undergo a selection process, and successful applicants will be notified in early March.

Note: This event is open only to young people aged 14–30, and minors must be accompanied by a chaperone. All applications must be received by Sunday, 23 February 2020, 23:00.
