UN Women is welcomed as the 100th publisher on the International Aid Transparency Initiative

UN Women has been welcomed as the 100th publisher on the open data registry of the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI).

The initiative brings together donors, partner countries, charities, international organizations and others to agree on common standards for releasing development funding data, making it easier to track what aid is being used for and what it is achieving on the ground.

The registry aims to increase the effectiveness of aid by making information easier to find, use and compare, ensuring that it is publicly accessible in a consistent and coordinated way.

Accountability and transparency build trust between UN Women and its stakeholders, be they member states, partners or the general public. UN Women also launched its own open data website in November 2012 making programme data available to the public.
