Progress in mainstreaming a gender perspective in the development, implementation and evaluations of national policies and programmes, with a particular focus on the elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child: Report of the Secretary-General (E/CN.6/2007/3)

The present report is submitted in response to General Assembly resolution A/C.3/61/L.60 and Economic and Social Council resolution 2006/9. The report assesses the extent to which attention to the girl child has been mainstreamed in policies and programmes at the national level, including through analyses of responses submitted by Member States in preparation for the 10-year review and appraisal of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and the outcome of the twenty-third  special session of the Assembly, as well as the updates received in response to a note verbally.
