UN Women Regional Goodwill Ambassador Jaha Dukureh receives Council of Europe North-South Prize 2018

UN Women's first Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Africa, Jaha Dukureh, has today received the North-South Prize 2018 by the Council of Europe, recognizing her role in the fight to end female genital mutilation.

The North-South Prize of the Council of Europe is awarded each year since 1995 to candidates who have stood out for their exceptional commitment to promoting North-South solidarity. The Award Ceremony took place in Lisbon, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
